TroubleShooting (Sound/Audio)

General

The first step I would suggest, is to check if your audio device is actually muted. Either externally or through your operating system.

If that's okay, then check if the volume within PianoRhythm is low or muted:

If you still don't hear anything, then check if your soundfont loaded properly. If it was, then you should see a list of instruments (shortcut: F1) and there should be at least be one instrument active in the dock channels:

Also double check if the Enable audio to output only setting is enabled, if that is not your intention.

Error logs

Lastly, check the devtools for any console log errors. You can do by pressing F12 or ctrl + shift + I. Click on the Console tab and see if any relevant errors show up. If so, feel to make a report in Discord or here

info

A channel is indicated as a primary active channel when it has a white border around the icon.

It's also possible that there may be an issue with your soundfont and/or instrument. Double check with another software that has soundfont support. I recommend using a free soundfont editor called Polyphone: (https://www.polyphone-soundfonts.com/)

Web

If you're using the browser version, double check if your tab is muted. For example in Chrome, right click on the tab and then click on Unmute site to unmute it:

Desktop

If you're using the desktop version, first check if PianoRhythm is using the correct targeted audio device:

And with that said, also check the target sample rate. If you choose a sample rate that is not supported by your audio device then the audio engine will fail. Overall, just leave it as AUTO or just make that the sample rate matches what your audio device is currently set to in your operating system.

Also, apparently certain types of audio devices like certain kinds of headphones seem to have issues. If that's the case, try using something else to see if the issue still persists.
